Witam,

I apologise for writing this post in English ale moja po polsku nie jest dobrze!!!
There will be a Polish version of this text posted within the next few days!

I am writing today to try and discover if there is a need or interest for a full-time, (11 hours/day, 5 days/week) English language course for children, aged 4 - 9?

The course would take place between July and September.

I would like to run such a course at English solutions language school but firstly I need some feedback from parents.

This post is an opportunity for parents to take part in the decision making process which occurs before an English course is presented to the people of Siechnice. My proposal is for the course to begin at 07:00 and finish at 18:00. Would these times be most suitable for parents?

Due to the size of our school there would only be space for 10 children. The price per month would be 700 zloty. The start date for the course would be 10 July and the price for July would be 500 zl per child.
The children would be taught and supervised by two teachers. This ratio of one teacher to five children would guarantee that all children in the group would reach their full potential!

Each week there would be a specific topic which the children would learn about, for example, ‘Going on Holiday’. The children would learn the vocabulary and sentences associated with each weekly topic, how to answer simple questions regarding the chosen topic, as well as create pictures and sculptures associated with the topic of the week.
The daily timetable would be as follows:

07:00 – 09:00: Playtime

09:00 – 09:30: Breakfast, Cereal, fruit, yoghurt, etc.

09:30 – 10:00: ‘Circle time’. Children sit in a circle and sing songs. Also we would talk about the topic which we would be learning about on that day, for example, ‘Going on holiday’. Children would learn vocabulary associated with ‘Going on Holiday’.

10:00 – 11:00: Education time: Based on the children’s age and level of English they would receive exercises related to the educational topic of the day. Younger children might be asked to trace letters and colour pictures while older children would be given written exercises. The children would receive constant help and guidance from their teachers throughout ‘Education time’.

11:00 – 11:30: Arts and crafts, painting, using different materials to create various objects. The children would work individually or as a group to create a poster, a clay model, a fish tank, etc.

11:30 – 13:00: Outdoor activities: The children would be taken by their teachers to the park, on a nature walk, or to one of the many beautiful, scenic locations in Siechnice. The children would get the opportunity to play games with their teachers, have a picnic, play football or just enjoy the fresh air and the great outdoors (Weather permitting). On rainy days the children would sing, dance, play games, or simply relax inside the school instead of going outdoors.

13:00 – 13:30: Lunch time, Sandwiches, soup, fruit, hot juice, pancakes, etc.

13:30 – 14:00: Free time/Playtime: The children would use this time to play with toys, play games, colour pictures, play with ‘Play-Doh’, Lego, etc.

14:00 -14:30: Afternoon circle time: The children would answer questions about the topic of the day, for example, ‘’Where do you go on holidays?’’, etc.

14:30 – 15:30: Music, dancing, games, storytelling, painting, drawing, etc.

15:30 – 16:00: Afternoon snack: Hot juice, fruit, cookies, etc.

16:00 – 18:00: Free time/Playtime. The children would be given the opportunity to play games, listen to music, take a nap or to learn more about the weekly topic.

Having spent one year working in an English speaking kindergarten in Wroclaw (International play-school), I am fully aware of the benefits for children, in terms of their English language development.

So, if you would like to send your child to a full-time English course, then please respond to this post!! (po polsku lub po angelsku ).

It is essential that I receive feedback from parents in order for this course to take place!!!! So, please post any questions or suggestions on this forum. Alternatively, you can email the school:
[email protected] or call Anna on: 790 619 303.

I look forward to hearing from all parents who may be curious or interested in enrolling their child for this summer course!

Many thanks,

John Corrigan.
